Welcome to RavenMC
Our rules are designed to create a fun, fair, and friendly environment for players of all ages and backgrounds. By joining our server, you agree to follow these guidelines. Failure to do so may result in warnings, temporary restrictions, or permanent removal from the server.
Please read all rules carefully. If you have any questions or need clarification, don't hesitate to ask a staff member for help. Let's all work together to keep RavenMC a positive community!
Respect All Players
All players deserve to be treated with respect regardless of their background, identity, or playstyle. Harassment, discrimination, hate speech, bullying, and disrespectful behavior are strictly prohibited. Keep all conversations and interactions appropriate and friendly.
Examples:
- Racial, ethnic, or religious slurs
- Sexual harassment or inappropriate comments
- Targeted insults or persistent negative behavior toward a player
- Encouraging self-harm or suicide
- Making fun of someone for their skill level or gameplay choices
No Griefing or Stealing
Respect other players' builds and property. Do not destroy, modify, or take items from other players without explicit permission, even if their land is not claimed. This includes "pranks" that damage property or cause inconvenience.
Examples:
- Breaking blocks from another player's build
- Taking items from chests that don't belong to you
- "Borrowing" items without permission
- Placing lava, water, or TNT around other players' builds
- Killing another player's tamed animals or pets
Land Claiming:
We highly recommend using our land claiming system to protect your builds. Use the command /claim to start protecting your land.
No Hacking or Exploits
Using hacked clients, mods that give unfair advantages, or exploiting bugs to gain an edge is prohibited. This includes any modification that provides capabilities beyond vanilla Minecraft or approved mods.
Prohibited mods/hacks include:
- X-ray mods or resource packs
- Auto-clickers and macros
- Flight hacks
- Speed hacks
- Killaura or combat assistance mods
- Duplication exploits
Allowed mods include:
- OptiFine
- Minimap mods (without entity radar or cave mapping)
- Cosmetic mods
- Replay mod
- Shaders
If you're unsure whether a mod is allowed, please ask a staff member before using it.
PvP Restrictions
PvP (Player versus Player combat) is only allowed in designated areas or during specific events. Forced PvP, spawn camping, and combat logging are not permitted.
PvP Guidelines:
- PvP is enabled in the Arena and Wilderness zones
- PvP is allowed during server events that specify combat
- Consensual PvP between players is allowed
- Forcing players into PvP situations
- Camping spawn areas to kill new players
- Logging out during combat to avoid death
- Repeatedly targeting the same player
Keep Chat Family-Friendly
Maintain appropriate language in all chat channels. Excessive swearing, adult content, and inappropriate discussions are not allowed. Our server welcomes players of all ages, so please keep that in mind when communicating.
Not allowed in chat:
- Excessive profanity
- Sexual content or innuendos
- Graphic violence
- Drug references
- Controversial political or religious debates
Note: We understand mild language may slip out occasionally, especially in frustrating situations. We're primarily concerned with excessive or targeted inappropriate language.
No Spamming or Advertising
Do not spam chat with repeated messages, excessive caps, or meaningless content. Advertising other servers or unrelated content is prohibited.
Examples of prohibited behavior:
- Sending the same message repeatedly
- Using ALL CAPS excessively
- Promoting other Minecraft servers
- Sharing links to external websites (except for relevant content with staff permission)
- Flooding chat with symbols or random characters
You are allowed to share your social media, YouTube, or Twitch channels if asked or in relevant conversation, but please don't repeatedly advertise them.
Respect Server Performance
Avoid building lag-inducing machines or contraptions that could negatively impact server performance for other players. This includes extremely complex redstone devices, massive mob farms, or other builds that create excessive entity counts or updates.
Guidelines for performance-friendly builds:
- Use efficient redstone designs
- Limit automated farms to reasonable sizes
- Keep entity counts (animals, item frames, etc.) reasonable
- Spread large builds across multiple chunks
- Use hoppers sparingly and consider alternatives
If you're planning a build that might affect performance, please discuss it with a staff member first. We're happy to help you design something that works without impacting other players.
Rule Enforcement
Our staff team enforces these rules using a progressive system designed to give players opportunities to learn and improve their behavior.
Strike System
We use a strike system for rule violations. Strikes expire after 30 days if no additional violations occur.
For minor first offenses, a staff member will explain the rule and ask you to modify your behavior.
A formal warning recorded in our system. You'll receive a message explaining the rule violation.
Chat violations result in a temporary mute (1-24 hours). Gameplay violations result in being kicked from the server.
A temporary ban from the server, typically 1-7 days depending on the severity and context of violations.
Severe violations or continued rule-breaking after temporary bans may result in a permanent ban from the server.
Note: Certain severe violations (such as hacking, major griefing, or extreme harassment) may result in an immediate temporary or permanent ban, bypassing earlier steps.
Need Help or Have Questions?
If you have questions about the rules, need to report a violation, or want to appeal a moderation action, our staff team is here to help. We're committed to fair enforcement and open communication.
Thank you for taking the time to read our server rules!
