Server Rules
To maintain a positive and enjoyable environment for all players, we ask everyone to follow these rules:
1. Respect All Players
Treat all players with respect. Harassment, discrimination, hate speech, and bullying are not tolerated. Keep chat appropriate and friendly.
2. No Griefing or Stealing
Respect other players' builds and property. Do not destroy, modify, or take items from other players without permission, even if their land is not claimed.
3. No Hacking or Exploits
Using hacked clients, mods that give unfair advantages, or exploiting bugs to gain an edge is prohibited. Allowed mods include Optifine, minimaps, and cosmetic mods.
4. PvP Restrictions
PvP is only allowed in designated areas or during events. Forced PvP, spawn camping, and combat logging are not permitted.
5. Keep Chat Family-Friendly
Maintain appropriate language in all chat channels. Excessive swearing, adult content, and inappropriate discussions are not allowed.
6. No Spamming or Advertising
Do not spam chat with repeated messages or excessive caps. Advertising other servers or unrelated content is prohibited.
7. Respect Server Performance
Avoid building lag-inducing machines or contraptions that could negatively impact server performance for other players.
Rule Enforcement
Our moderation team enforces these rules with a strike system:
- First offense: Warning
- Second offense: Temporary mute or kick
- Third offense: Temporary ban (1-7 days)
- Severe or repeated offenses: Permanent ban

How do I start leveling up my Raven?
When you first join, you'll receive a Raven Egg. Right-click it to hatch your companion. Complete daily quests, mine resources, defeat enemies, and build structures to gain XP. As you level up, your raven will evolve and gain new abilities.
Can I claim land to protect my builds?
Yes! Use the /claim command to start protecting your land. New players receive 2,000 claim blocks initially, and you earn more as you play. You can add trusted players to your claim with /trust [playername].
How does the economy work?
Our economy is based on Raven Tokens. You earn tokens by completing quests, participating in events, trading with other players, and selling items at the community marketplace. Use tokens to purchase special items, claim more land, or upgrade your raven abilities.
Is there a teleport system?
Yes, we have several teleport options:
- /spawn - Return to the server spawn
- /home - Teleport to your set home points (unlock more as you level up)
- /warp - Visit server warps like shopping district, events, and more
- /tpa - Request to teleport to another player
What makes RavenMC different from other servers?
RavenMC offers a unique Raven-themed leveling experience you won't find elsewhere. Your companion raven grows with you, gaining abilities that help with mining, combat, exploration, and more. We also offer custom biomes, structures, enchantments, and regular community events designed around our raven theme.
Do I need to use Discord to play?
While not required, joining our Discord server is highly recommended. We announce events, updates, and maintenance there, and it's the best place to get support if you need help. Plus, linking your Minecraft account to Discord gives you additional perks!
How often do you reset the map?
We aim to keep the main world running for 6-8 months before considering a reset. When resets happen, we provide ample notice and allow players to download their builds. Player progress, including raven levels and economy, carries over to new maps.
Server Maintenance
Our server undergoes regular maintenance to ensure the best possible experience for all players. Below is information about our maintenance schedule and tools.
Maintenance Schedule
- Regular Restarts: Daily at 3:00 AM EST (automated, 1-2 minute downtime)
- Weekly Maintenance: Tuesdays, 2:00-3:00 AM EST
- Major Updates: Announced at least 48 hours in advance via Discord
Backup Policy
We maintain several layers of backup protection for the server:
- Hourly Incremental Backups: Retained for 24 hours
- Daily Full Backups: Retained for 7 days
- Weekly Full Backups: Retained for 30 days
- Pre-update Full Backups: Taken before any major update
